Inspiration

How do you recognize when you had an inspired moment?

I think that most of the time, we are going through our daily lives not paying attention to it. How about if we set the intention to realize and appreciate the inspired moments? How would that day look like? Would you spend the day wondering if and when inspiration would come? Would you ask for it to come at a specific time so that you would notice it? Would you just live your day as you always have? Or would you stay more present each moment, so that you would recognize when you had an inspired thought or action?

When does our journey to achieving a dream really start?

My journey to becoming a published author

The Day of Self-Discovery workshop on October 22nd 2011 was great, thank you to all the women who participated, shared, opened their hearts, created their own action plans and are now on their way to achieving something wonderful!

The workshop got me thinking about my own journey in writing Ask Others, Trust Yourself. I realized that this journey started long before the idea came up to write this book. I remember that as a teenager, I would go with my little sister (10 years younger) to the club, stay by the pool, and I would come up with stories for her to keep her out of the pool so I could sunbathe (I know, horrible! But she forgave me. I think). Years later, the first book I attempted to write was a fiction one, but it was never published or appreciated.

What’s Your Passion?

The other day, someone who had visited both WomenandBiz.com and AskOthersTrustYourself.com told me that he could clearly see my professional passion. I stopped for a moment to think about it. He is right, I’m passionate about helping women pursue their dreams, find their passion, and achieve balance. However, I don’t spend all day long thinking about what’s my passion, if I’m pursuing it the right way or enough. It just happens that I’m most attracted to reading about women’s issues, reading non-fiction books that help me become a better coach and writer, helping women become their best selves, and promoting women’s equality and achievements.

Fine line between being fierce and being smart

As you may have watched, I recorded a video a few weeks ago to promote the self-discovery day I’m launching.

I certainly welcome feedback, and I ended up being criticized for doing it alone. Either it was the wrong lighting, the wrong distance to the camera, (I agree with all comments), hey maybe the wrong person to be in the video… 😉 You will see from the video that I recorded it myself (I used a Flip Camera). I’m actually proud that I was able to edit the video, and delete myself starting and stopping the recording.

How does worrying help you take action?

It doesn’t. Well, I remember a few years ago, during the webcast that Oprah hosted with Eckhart Tolle, someone posted a question that he keeps worrying about paying bills, and Eckhart Tolle mentioned that worrying would not pay the bills. It makes sense. Worrying won’t bring you the results you need, but realizing that you feel worried and taking action will.

What can you do today to stop worrying and start doing? What are the small and big steps you can take to make something happen?

What's stopping you?

Have you stopped to think about what’s really stopping you? What’s stopping you from writing your book/starting your business/growing your business/launching your blog/building your website/doing something you’ve always dreamed of?

Sometimes we just stay in the idea stage, and we keep thinking – wouldn’t it be nice if…

Other times we do decide to take action, but we get stuck planning and planning and planning and we never act.

Writing with an Accent

I’m well aware that I have an accent when I speak English and I’ve decided to make peace with the fact that I also write with an accent. Although I have been writing in English for many years, I still have an accent. Over time I’ve learned to let go of the few negative feedbacks I received on posts I’ve written.

I could have chosen to go in many directions:

Back on Track After a Disappointment

Recently I took a leap of faith and applied through a competitive process, to work on a project for a person I admire. I was really excited about this opportunity, but a week later I found out that I wasn’t selected. At first, I felt disappointed; I was really looking forward to the opportunity to learn from him and to this new experience. I allowed myself to feel sad and go through the negative thoughts that came up. Soon after I gave myself permission to feel that way, those feelings and thoughts went away. I also received some encouraging emails from supportive friends.
