I love Seth Godin's inspiring blog post about Interpreting Criticism.
In “Ask Others, Trust Yourself”, I discussed how you can turn criticism and negative business feedback into something positive. Here are a few steps to take:
- Ask for feedback from others: Find out if more than one person has the same negative opinion about your project/idea/business strategy;
- Do additional research: Go to the library, study other business strategies and models, and interview business experts;
- Write a plan of action: This is key to minimizing your risks;
- Trust Yourself: Take time to check your own intuition;
- Ask the question suggested by Seth Godin: “What about the world as it is would have to change for your idea to be important?”
- Take action: Once you have done all the research, and written a plan, it is time to start taking steps towards realizing your vision.
Feel free to post your own suggestions on how to deal with negative business feedback.
